A writer FOr HIRE

Story has become a lifelong friend.

I love the idea of escaping to another world and coming back wiser for living well in this one.

Starting in youth theater, I began a lifelong interest in fiction, seeing the world through the lens of story structure. Falling in love with myth in literary and visual mediums. The more I learned, the more doors started to open. It started a pursuit of refining ideas, as a grain of sand develops into a pearl, to create captivating characters, communicate meaningful concepts, and tell well-rounded stories.

But, what’s more, this craving for fantasied meaning made me live better and more aware for the real world around me. Story awakened the hero in me to not only pursue wonder in my personal life, but also enter the marketplace with a creative tool belt.

Jonathan is a deep and critical thinker, approachable, and full of wisdom and raw talent, all of which are crucial elements to being a great writer. I had the privilege of being his teacher, but I may have learned more from him than he did from me.

MY PROMISE

My goal in any form of writing is to engage an audience emotionally towards a product; connecting meaning to a commodity. That’s what we long to experience as humans. That’s what storytelling does.

About Me

IMG_4109 2.jpeg

MY NAME IS Jonathan, but you can call me “JC”

I have been writing professionally for the past seven years and have a bachelor’s degree in screenwriting from the Biola Film School in Southern California. I love all forms of storytelling, from the stage and screen to theme park experiences, but I have a soft spot for the ABC television show LOST and all things related to Disney Animation. My wife, Ashleymae, and I currently live in Van Nuys, CA. She’s way cuter than me.
